Frosted colt shows he’s best in the West

Bustling proves far too strong with all-the-way victory in G2 Karrakatta Plate at Ascot

Imposing two-year-old Bustling gave jockey Blake Shinn an armchair ride when he scored a devastating win on Saturday, 20 April in the G2 Karrakatta Plate at Ascot in Perth.

Having only his fourth start, and after easily winning the Listed Amelia Park - Perth Stakes (1,100m) at his previous run, Bustling burst from the barrier straight to the lead and never looked in danger of defeat.

The Daniel Moreton-trained youngster sped over the 1,200m in a sizzling 1 minute 9.06 seconds to beat Earthstorm by 4.25 lengths. Blue Point filly Blue Rocket was a half-length away in third place.

Bustling was bred in Western Australia by Oakland Park Stud an is out of the Australian mare Busimiss.

The victory gave Frosted another recent feature-race success after Frosted At Dawn (out of Hawana) won at Meydan, Security Code (Stopspendingmaria) saluted at Aqueduct and Post Time (Vielsalm) scored consecutive Stakes wins at Laurel and in New York.

Frosted has sired 304 winners of 665 races worldwide, including individual 27 Stakes winners of 41 Black-Type races.
