Maxfield’s Ivy Girl wins the Main Line Stakes at Parx!

Becomes the 12th career Stakes horse for her sire

Coming off of a second-place finish in her 2026 debut at Laurel, Maxfield's three-year-old daughter Ivy Girl appeared to take to the off track at Parx in the Main Line Stakes on March 3rd to become the 12th Stakes horse for her sire.

The bay sophomore broke last of all in the one-and-one-sixteenth mile affair and was content to cruise along in that spot as the field approached the half-mile mark. Jockey Jaime Rodriguez started to ask his charge for more at that point, and as the field approached the far turn, he steered Ivy Girl to the inside for the stretch run. It wasn't until the final strides that she was able to collar the front-runner and get her head in front at the wire for the victory.

Bred by Farfellow Farms in Kentucky, Ivy Girl is out of Stakes-placed Critikal Reason, and is a half to Black Type winner and G1-placed Bajan (dam of Stakes-placed Jubilee Bridge), and to G3-placed Virtual Machine. This is also the family of Eclipse Champion and G1 Breeders' Cup Distaff winner Forever Unbridled, G1 Kentucky Oaks winner Lemons Forever and G1 Ballerina Stakes winner Unbridled Forever

Maxfield now leads Yaupon among all second-crop sires by percentage of lifetime Stakes horses from foals. His other runners include Del Mar Stakes winner Max Ciao, G1-placed Five Bars, Gunner Runner Stakes runner-up Liberty National and Del Mar Stakes-placed Cosmic Heat.

Maxfield's fee for the 2026 breeding season is $50,000, live foal.
