Whobegotyou records seventh Stakes win in Australia

Street Cry gelding proves too good at Caulfield winning at G2 level

Having never finished out of the top two in eight first up appearances, Street Cry six-year-old Whobegotyou recorded his seventh career Stakes win when taking out the G2 P.B. Lawrence Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield, Australia on August 13.

Settling third last in the field of 11, jockey Damien Oliver never panicked; bringing the Mark Kavanagh-trained multiple G1 winner wide as the field rounded the home turn. Picking up the leaders in a matter of strides, Whobegotyou went on to defeat last start G1 Schweppes Oaks winner Lights Of Heaven by a neck margin.

Bred by Bred by Lockyer Thoroughbreds, Whobegotyou is out of the Stakes-placed Carnegie mare Temple Of Peace and is from the family of International Stakes winners Rajsaman, Rosawa, Rosanara, Cuddles, Katz Me If You Can, Cause To Believe, Buffythecenterfold and Tap To The Music.

A G1 winner as a three and four-year-old, Whobegotyou has raced in the top echelon of gallopers throughout his career and this Spring his campaign will be aimed at the G1 WS Cox Plate at Moonee Valley.

A winner of the G1 Dubai World Cup, Street Cry is the sire of 50 international Stakes winners, including G1 winners Zenyatta, Street Sense, Street Boss, Victor's Cry, Shocking and Seventh Street.
