Victory Achieved conquers rivals in G2 Nearctic Stakes

Street Sense gelding rallies late to notch his first Graded Stakes win

Victory Achieved tracked the pace from the inside, swept four wide around the turn and drew off to a three-length win in the G2 Nearctic Stakes at Woodbine Oct. 3.

The Nearctic marked the first Stakes success for Victory Achieved, a five-year-old gelding by Street Sense.

Victory Achieved raced about three lengths off the lead in fourth on the turn in the six-furlong main turf sprint, as Essex Serpent shook loose up front while setting honest fractions over the good footing.

Victory Achieved made up ground early in the stretch and hit the front near the eighth pole before drawing off to win by three lengths, in a time of 1:09.30.

Bred in Florida, Victory Achieved races as a homebred for Live Oak Stud. He is out of the winning War Front mare, Lady of Victory, and is a half brother to Stakes winner Souper Quest (Munnings).

Street Sense is the sire of six Stakes winners in 2026, led by the duo of Bella Ballerina (G2 Rachel Alexandra Stakes) and Proctor Street (G2 Canadian Stakes). The stallion is also represented Stakes winners Street Beast, Judo, and Starship Athena.
