Street Beast overpowers rivals in $1 million Global Tote Juvenile Mile

Two-year-old colt by Street Sense notches first Stakes win in impressive fashion

Wheeling back off an opening day maiden victory just 10 days earlier didn’t faze Street Beast in the least as he drew off to score a seven-length victory in the $1 million Global Tote Juvenile Mile at Kentucky Downs Sept. 7.

The two-year-old son of Street Sense, who improved his record to two wins and a second-place finish in three starts, earned $591,400 for the win, increasing his earnings to $760,644.

Street Beast broke sharply but ceded his early advantage to Baytown Dreamer. The pacesetter turned into the stretch with a clear advantage, but saw his lead quickly evaporate as Street Beast strode to the lead and stormed clear to score by seven.

Street Beast was bred in Kentucky by Sunnybrook Stables LLC and is out of Flower Party (Duke of Marmalade), winner of the G3 Premio Verziere Memorial Aldo Cirla in Italy. Flower Party is a half-sister to Birthday Party (Rock of Gibraltar), like her sibling also a Stakes winner in Italy, and both mares hail from the Graded Stakes-winning mare, Traverse City.

In addition to Street Beast, Street Sense is also represented this year by La Cara, winner of both the G1 Central Bank Ashland Stakes and G1 Acorn Stakes; First Mission, winner of the G2 Oaklawn Handicap; Serendipity, winner of the G3 Selene Stakes and Kinetic, winner of the General MacArthur Overnight Stakes.
