Discreet Marq all the way in G3 Beaugay Stakes

Discreet Cat's G1-winning daughter on top at Belmont

Discreet Cat's G1-winning daughter Discreet Marq was certainly the one to beat May 9 as she returned to the winner's circle once again in the G3 Beaugay Stakes at Belmont Park. With the win, the five-year-old turf specialist notched her seventh Black type win lifetime, among them the G1 Del Mar Oaks and G2 Sands Point Stakes.

In the one-and-one-sixteenth-mile turf race Discreet Marq broke straight to the early lead out of the gate. Setting the pace throughout, they were all chasing her turning for home, and the mare couldn't be caught down the lane to easily seal the win in the G3 event.

Bred by Patricia Generazio, Discreet Marq is out of multiple Stakes winner and Graded-placed mare To Marquet, also the dam of Stakes-placed runners Marquet Cat and Marquet Madness. Discreet Marq sold for $2.4 million at Fasig-Tipton's November Sale in 2014.Other G1 winners for Discreet Cat include recent back-to-back G1 Carter Handicap winner Dads Caps and G1 Chandelier Stakes winner Secret Compass. Discreet Cat is the sire of 18 Stakes winners lifetime.

Discreet Cat stands the current breeding season for $7,500 live foal, stands and nurses.
