Discreet Dancer breaks track record on debut at Gulfstream

14th winner for freshman sire Discreet Cat

Discreet Cat two-year-old colt Discreet Dancer was nothing short of outstanding on debut in a Maiden Special Weight at Gulfstream Park. The colt broke the track record going five and one-half furlongs in 1:02.34, stealing the show by nearly 10 lengths.

Sent off as the heavy 3-5 favorite Discreet Dancer was up front with pacesetters to start. He began to draw away at the top of the stretch and never stopped accelerating to take the victory and become the 14th winner for his freshman sire.

A homebred for E. Paul Robsham Stable, LLC, Discreet Dancer is out of West Side Dancer, by Gone West. He is a half-brother to G2 winner Travelin Man.

Discreet Cat's is now the sire of 14 two-year-old winners. In addition to track record breaking Discreet Dancer he has sired repeat winners Kinnikonick and Jediscreto, as well as Saratoga winner Dehere Of The Cat. A son of Forestry, Discreet Cat was rated the equal of Bernardini at three and his victories include the G1 Cigar Mile where he equalled the track record of 1:32.46.
