Discreet Cat's Debt Ceiling shows off in Rollicking Stakes

Darley-sired exacta at Pimlico

Discreet Cat juvenile Debt Ceiling was nothing short of impressive taking his Stakes debut May 18 in Pimlico's Rollicking Stakes.

The two-year-old colt was entering after winning his first career start by more than four lengths at the end of March, and now boasts a perfect two-for-two record. In the five-furlong race, Debt Ceiling patiently stayed towards the back of the pack in the early stages of the race. When the field entered the stretch, the colt came on strong in the center of the track and swept past his competitors for the score. Silvertonguedtommy, by Street Boss, finished second.

Bred by Brandywine Farm, Debt Ceiling is out of the Stakes-winning mare Top Marks, who has also produced Stakes-placed Dean's List, by former Darley stallion Holy Bull. The colt's second dam is Stakes winner Top Princess.

Debt Ceiling's victory only adds to what has already been a fantastic year for Discreet Cat, as the sire has also been represented by G2 winner and G1-placed Discreet Dancer. He is the sire of seven Stakes winners to date, and a total of 15 Stakes horses. Discreet Cat is currently standing at Darley America for $12,500 stands and nurses.
