Debt Ceiling cruises in G3 Bashford Manor Stakes

Two-year-old Debt Ceiling, by Discreet Cat, put on a show June 29 to stay perfect in the G3 Bashford Manor Stakes at Churchill Downs. The colt was entering off a dominating win in the Rollicking Stakes at Pimlico in May.

In the six-furlong race Debt Ceiling settled into third position before taking command of the lead at the top of the lane. There was no stopping him as he ran away with the impressive win.

Debt Ceiling was bred by Brandywine Farm and is out of the Stakes-winning mare Top Marks. The mare has also produced Stakes-placed Dean's List, by former Darley stallion Holy Bull. The colt's second dam is Stakes winner Top Princess.

Discreet Cat is the sire of five Graded Stakes winners to date. His 2013 performers include G2 winner and G1-placed Discreet Dancer, G2 Sands Point Stakes winner Discreet Marq, and G3 Maryland Sprint Handicap winner Sage Valley.
