Champagne Anyone celebrates victory in G2 Gulfstream Park Oaks

Daughter of Street Sense pops the cork on her first Graded Stakes win

Champagne Anyone overtook leader Cookie Dough in deep stretch and held off the late challenge of Dunbar Road to win the G2 Gulfstream Park Oaks by a half-length March 30.

The three-year-old daughter of Street Sense earned her first Graded Stakes victory in the Gulfstream Park Oaks. She previously had been third in both the G2 Davona Dale Stakes and G3 Forward Gal Stakes.

Ridden patiently by jockey Chris Landeros, Champagne Anyone sat just off the pace in second through the early stages of the race. At the top of the stretch, Champagne Anyone drew even with longtime leader Cookie Dough. The duo matched strides briefly before Champagne Anyone put her rival away. She then held off the late bid of Dunbar Road to win by a half-length.

Champagne Anyone was bred in Kentucky by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings LLC. Champagne Anyone’s dam, Lucevan, is a half-sister to both Miss Loren (by Numerous), Champion older mare in Argentina and winner of the G1 Santa Maria Handicap, and to Mr. Light (by Numerous), winner of the G3 Poker Handicap.

In addition to Champagne Anyone, Street Sense is also represented by 2019 Graded Stakes winners Dixie Blossoms (G1 Coolmore Classic in Australia), Aztec Sense (G3 Fred W. Hooper Stakes) and Doctor Mounty (G3 Tropical Turf). Only the stallion Tapit has more Graded Stakes winners this year.

Street Sense is standing the 2019 breeding season at Jonabell Farm in Kentucky for $50,000, stands and nurses.
