What do names like Zenyatta, Ashado, Raven’s Pass, Tiznow, English Channel and Rachel Alexandra make you think of? Well, first, all were Horses of the Year or champions who distinguished themselves in the world’s premier racing events. Second, the first five were all Breeders’ Cup champions and the sixth didn’t make the world championships although she is one of the best fillies of our time. And lastly? The first two listed (Zenyatta, and Ashado), as well as the dams of the other four, are just a few examples of outstanding mares in the books of Darley stallions for the 2011 breeding season.
If you look at the books of our roster of 16 stallions collectively, you’ll find that 405 Group winners/dams of Group winners will visit the Darley stallions this season, a who’s who list of fantastic mares that also reflects an additional 171 G1 winners/dams of G1 winners.
A total of 1,700 mares will have been bred by the time the 2011 season ends. We won’t show the rest of the list in its entirety, but we would like to list a few more names of G1-winning mares or the G1 winners produced from these mares. And hats off to our breeders who continue to show their support for our stallions through the mares they send to the shed here at Darley:

The list goes on. And not just for 2011. We are proud of the fact that we have been able to maintain the support of breeders year after year. To further illustrate this point, if one takes a cumulative look of our stallion’s books over the last four years beginning with 2008 - the year that our current freshman sires Any Given Saturday, Discreet Cat, Hard Spun and Street Sense entered stud - one would find that a total of 1,702 Group winner/dams of Group winners were booked to our roster. Additionally, you would see that 702 G1 winners/dams of G1 winners also visited the shed at Darley America.
With a roster that also includes the likes of Street Cry, Bernardini, Medaglia d’Oro and Elusive Quality, we remain confident and enthusiastic that the best is yet to come here at Darley America. If you have any questions or would like additional information, please give us a call here at the farm.
