Zenyatta named world champion older filly

Street Cry's unbeaten daughter is alloted a rating of 125

The unbeaten Zenyatta, Street Cry's flag bearer of 2008, was named the champion older filly in the world on Tuesday when the International Handicappers released their world rankings.

In a season that saw her register seven victories, four of which were at the highest level, culminating in the Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic (pictured), she has been rightly awarded recognition for a truly remarkable campaign. She is now back in training with a spring campaign out West planned, before an assault at bigger targets later in the year.

Jonabell resident, Street Cry has been nothing short of sensational in his first three seasons as a stallion. The sire of Kentucky Derby hero Street Sense in his first crop, he has sired eight G1 winners so far which is more than A. P. Indy, Distorted Hero, Kingmambo and Storm Cat could manage at the same stage of their career.
Other highlights of a superb 2008 included the multiple G1 winning Street Boss (who stands alongside his sire and Street Sense at Jonabell) and top-flight juvenile winner Street Hero.

Street Cry stands for $150,000, Street Sense for $60,000 and Street Boss for $25,000, all Stands & Nurses.
