Wink rolls to victory in Melody of Colors Stakes

Midshipman filly looks impressive in three-year-old debut

Wink rocketed to the lead at the start and never looked back on her way to posting a three-quarter length victory in the Melody of Colors Stakes at Gulfstream Park March 20.

It was the second Stakes win for the three-year-old daughter of Midshipman. The Wesley Ward trainee captured the Colleen Stakes and was second in the G3 Prix d’Arenberg at Longchamp as a juvenile.

Wink was bred in Kentucky by Tony Citarrella and RAM Racing and campaigns in the colors of Stonestreet Stables. Wink is out of the winning Wildcat Heir mare, Dancing My Way, and hails from the family of Stakes winners Lady Clever Trick, Marshua’s Echelon, Big Apple Daddy and Golden Actor.

Midshipman continues to be a consistent sire of Black Type horses. His 17% career Black Type horses from starters continues to be among the best in the business – no stallion under $50K can do better.

Midshipman is standing the 2021 breeding season at Jonabell Farm for $7,500 stands and nurses.
