Tower Of Texas surges late, comes out on top in three-horse photo to win G2 Connaught Cup

Son of Street Sense makes successful return to races after lengthy layoff

Tower Of Texas rallied determinedly in the stretch, just getting up in the final strides to prevail by a nose over Commute in the G2 Connaught Cup at Woodbine.

The race marked the 2017 debut for the son of Street Sense, who hadn’t raced since last October. The long respite proved to be just what Tower Of Texas needed as he earned his second Graded Stakes victory.

Bred by Anderson Farms (Ontario) Inc. & Rod Ferguson, Tower Of Texas is out of G2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes-placed mare Rare Opportunity, also the dam of Graded Stakes winner Street Sounds (Street Cry) and Stakes winner Silver Highlight.

Tower Of Texas is one of 47 stakes winners for Street Sense, who has also sired such top performers as G1 winners Sense Of Occasion, Callback, Wedding Toast, and Street Fancy.

Street Sense is standing the 2017 season at Jonabell Farm for a fee of $45,000, stands and nurses.
