Tiger Moth charges to victory in G3 Groupie Doll Stakes

Daughter of Street Sense earns her first Graded Stakes win with determined rally

Tiger Moth charged down the center of the course, sweeping past rivals in the stretch to win the G3 Groupie Doll Stakes at Ellis Park by three-quarters of a length.

It was the first Graded Stakes victory for the daughter of Street Sense, and it was her second Stakes win in a row. She captured the Mari Hulman George Stakes in her prior start.

Bred in Kentucky by her owner John D. Gunther, Tiger Moth is out of the winning Sir Cat mare, Saratoga Cat. Tiger Moth is a half-sister to millionaire Last Gunfighter, winner of the G2 Hawthorne Gold Cup and G3 Pimlico Special.

Siring 48 Stakes-performers in his stud career so far, Street Sense’s progeny are headed by the likes of G1 winners Callback, Wedding Toast, Street Fancy, and Sense of Occasion.
