Street Strategy determined winner of Fifth Season Stakes

Son of Street Sense battles to a hard-fought head victory to earn first Stakes score

Street Strategy battled with Departing the length of the stretch, finally edging clear in the shadow of the wire to capture the Fifth Season Stakes by a head at Oaklawn Park.

The five-year-old son of Street Sense notched his first Stakes victory in the Fifth Season, and improved his career record to six wins in 11 starts.

Bred in Kentucky by Glencrest Farm and Darley, Street Strategy is out of Spoken Softly, a winning full-sister to Spoken Fur, winner of the G1 Mother Goose and G1 Coaching Club American Oaks. Spoken Fur is also a half-sister to G3 Daytona Stakes winner, Unbridled’s Note.

Street Strategy became the second Stakes winner of the day for his sire; Street Sense also sired Street of Gold, winner of the Marie G. Krantz Stakes at Fair Grounds.

Street Sense had a tremendous 2015, in which he sired such top performers as Callback, winner of the G1 Las Virgenes, Wedding Toast, winner of the G1 Ogden Phipps and G1 Beldame, and Street Fancy, winner of the G1 Starlet Stakes.

Street Sense will stand for a fee of $45,000 (stands and nurses) in 2016.
