Street of Gold flies home late to win Marie G. Krantz Stakes

Second Stakes victory for hard-knocking daughter of Street Sense

Street of Gold closed strongly in the final furlong to capture the Marie G. Krantz Stakes by three-quarters of a length at Fair Grounds Jan. 16.

It was the second Stakes victory for the six-year-old daughter of Street Sense, who has finished in the money 15 times in 34 lifetime starts.

Bred in Kentucky by Alpha Delta Stables LLC, Street of Gold is out of Harriett Lane, winner of the listed La Habra Stakes and a half-sister to G3 Arlington-Washington Futurity winner, Cactus Ridge.

Street Sense enters the new year off a banner 2015, in which he sired such top performers as Callback, winner of the G1 Las Virgenes, Wedding Toast, winner of the G1 Ogden Phipps and G1 Beldame, and Street Fancy, winner of the G1 Starlet Stakes.

Street Sense will stand for a fee of $45,000 (stands and nurses) in 2016.
