Elusive Quality colt wins big in Australia

Already an impressive winner of his first stakes attempt last out, the Elusive Quality colt Sepoy turned in yet another brilliant performance in winning the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude on February 12 at Caulfield Racetrack in Australia. Sepoy now takes aim for the $1,000,000 G1 Blue Diamond Stakes to be held on February 25, also at Caulfield.

Sepoy was quickest out of the gate, but jockey Mark Zahra was content to relinquish that spot, albeit for just a short time, and then simply let his undefeated two-year-old kick away from the field as they swung into the turn to win by three lengths in a fast time.

Bred by Sheikh Mohammed's Darley, and racing in the maroon silks of Darley Stable, Sepoy is out of a full sister to G1 winner Camarena, she the dam of G1 winner Camarilla, also by Elusive Quality.

Sepoy represents the 20th career Graded or Group winner for Elusive Quality who was North America’s leading sire by number of Stakes wins in 2010. He sired a total of 17 Stakes winners last year, including the multiple G1 winner Quality Road.
