Sensible Lady smart in Buckland Stakes

Second black type victory for Street Sense filly

Street Sense's three-year-old daughter Sensible Lady earned her first Stakes victory May 18 in Pimlico's The Very One Stakes. It didn't take long for the filly to wind up back in the winner's circle June 23 in the Buckland Stakes at Colonial Downs for her second black type win.

Going five and one-half furlongs on the turf, Sensible Lady stalked the pace, steadily advancing throughout. She traveled four wide in the stretch and drew away for the victory for owner Three Lyons Racing.

Sensible Lady is the first foal for Awesome Lady, a multiple Stakes winner and Graded-placed mare by Bianconi. The filly was bred in Kentucky by Spendthrift Farm, LLC.

A son of Street Cry, Street Sense is the only horse to ever win both the G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile and G1 Kentucky Derby. He has 12 Stakes horses already from his first crop, including G3 winners Castaway and Motor City, as well as G1-placed fillies Aubby K and Miss Netta. Street Sense stands for $40,000 at Darley USA.
