Seeing out the old year in style

Elusive Quality filly wins Listed New Year’s Eve Stakes to land her hat-trick

Royale Michele gave her owner/breeder Sam Pollock a memorable end to 2008 when winning her first Stakes race on 30 December in the six-furlong (1200m) New Year’s Eve Stakes at Mountaineer in West Virginia.

This was the third win in a row for the three-year-old daughter of Elusive Quality, who has now won four of her seven starts since she first took to the track on 27 June.

Royale Michele is out of Michele Royale, by Groovy. She is the nineteenth black-type performer for Elusive Quality in 2008, including Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass and the highly promising juvenile colt Evasive.
