Second straight Stakes win for Elusive Horizon

Daughter of Elusive Quality add the Boeing Handicap to notch her fourth Stakes victory; Offlee Wild sires his sixth winner

Elusive Horizon, a four-year-old daughter of Darley stallion Elusive Quality, recorded her fourth career Stakes win and her second inside a month when dead-heating for the $50,000 Boeing Handicap at Emerald Downs on July 26.

Setting the early pace, Elusive Horizon was hard pressed by Holy Nova in the stretch, but hung on gamely to cross the wire neck and neck with her rival. She now has seven wins, two second and a third from 13 starts and has not been out of the placings this year. Her previous Stakes wins came in the Washington Oaks, the Washington’s Lottery Handicap and the King County Handicap.

Bred by Northwest Farms, she is out of the Unbridled’s Song mare Exogenetic – a three-parts sister to multiple G1 winner Exogenous.

Elusive Quality has sired ten individual Stakes winners and a further seven Stakes-placers this year, including G1 winner Quality Road who is due to make his reappearance in the G2 Amsterdam at Saratoga on 3 August.

Also on Sunday, freshman sire Offlee Wild recorded his sixth individual winner when Offlee Dark obliged at Philadelphia Park. Offlee Dark is owned and bred by Heiligbrodt Stable and becomes the fifth winner out of Dark Tango, also dam of Stakes winner Saratoga Tango.

Offlee Wild is also sire of three Stakes performers in Heavenville, Dant and Tomball.
