Royalty prevails at Naas

Street Cry’s Princess Highway impresses in G3 Blue Wind

Princess Highway broke alertly for jockey Pat Smullen in the G3 Blue Wind Stakes at Naas on May 14 and settled into second place where she remained until turning for home. With a little bit of urging, the daughter of Street Cry took the lead about four furlongs out and finished strongly to register her second win in three career starts and the first Group win of her career. She becomes the 36th overall Group or Graded winner for her sire.

Princess Highway was bred in the U.S. by Moyglare Stud who also bred her dam, the multiple G3 winner Irresistible Jewel. Irresistible Jewel is the dam of G3 winner/G1-placed Mad About You and is a half sister to Stakes winner Diamond Trim (dam of five-time champion Profound Beauty), and G3-placed Legal Jousting. Irresistible Jewel has a 2012 Street Cry filly by her side.

Street Cry is the sire of 58 career Stakes winners, including 13 at the highest level. Included among these are Horse of the Year Zenyatta, as well as Champion Street Sense and multiple G1 winner Street Boss, both of which stand alongside their father at Darley in America.
