Relentless Dancer crushes rivals in Louisiana Legacy Stakes

Son of Midshipman draws off to win by over ten lengths

Relentless Dancer took command at the top of the lane and drew off through the stretch on his way to an impressive ten-and-a-half length victory in the Louisiana Legacy Stakes at Delta Downs Oct. 19.

It was the first Stakes win for the two-year-old colt by Midshipman, who was supplemented to the race by trainer Mike Maker after he crushed rivals by nine-and-three-quarter lengths at Churchill Downs when breaking his maiden in September.

Bred in Louisiana by Paul Pruett, Relentless Dancer is out of Passion For Words, a winning daughter of Benchmark. Relentless Dancer is a half brother to Stakes winner Rock N Sake and Stakes-placed My Kay Sara.

Midshipman has sired over 25 Stakes winners, including Leucothea, a promising juvenile filly who recently won the Listed Anoakia Stakes at Santa Anita. Midshipman is the sire of 2019 Graded Stakes winners Tweet (G1 Grande Premio Joao Cecilio Ferraz in Brazil), Mr Vargas (G3 Green Flash Stakes) and Old Shipman (G3 Grande Premio Presidente Augusto de Souza Queiroz in Brazil).
