Quiet American's Switch takes Del Mar's Torrey Pines Stakes

Three-year-old filly wins second Stakes of 2010

This talented sophomore daughter of Quiet American was content to track the leader throughout most of the one-mile Torrey Pines Stakes at Del Mar on September 5th, but when the field turned for home, she pulled away impressivley to win by three and one-quarter lengths. G1-placed in the Las Virgenes Stakes earlier this year, Switch's other victories include the G2 Hollywood Oaks at Hollywood Park earlier this summer in which she defeated current three-year-old filly division leader Blind Luck.

Bred by Calumet Farm, she is out of G3 winner Antoniette, whose three other foals to race have all won, including the listed winner Keystone Gulch. This is also the family of Darley stallion Elusive Quality.

Quiet American has sired 106 career stakes performers, including 19 Graded Stakes winners, with four of those winning at G1 level.
