Nocturnelle too good in Tibbie

Elusive Quality mare becomes the 80th Stakes winner for her sire with victory in Australia

Settling mid-field in the Listed Tibbie Stakes over 7f at Newcastle, Australia, the Chris Waller-trained Elusive Quality mare Nocturnelle produced a nice turn of foot when a gap appeared at the top of the stretch to get up to defeat New Beginning by a half length margin.

Bred by Mr Brian Agnew and Mr Peter Hawks, Nocturnelle is out of the G3-winning Snippets mare Dama De Noche, already the dam of the G3-performed Encosta de Lago mare Seduced. Dama de Noche produced a bay colt by World Champion three-year-old Bernardini in mid August.

A winner of five races and a further three places from 11 starts, this ever-consistent mare is likely to target further Black type races as she progresses further into her current race campaign.

The sire of eight individual winners at the elite level including Australia’s Champion two and three-year-old colt Sepoy, as well as Quality Road, Elusive Kate, Camarilla and Raven’s Pass, Elusive Quality is a world-class sire, having acheived winners on all surface types, at all distances and in numerous different countries around the world.
