Nocturnelle doubles up

Consecutive stakes to Elusive Quality mare

Nocturnelle added another Stakes win to her resume with a strong win the Listed Angst Stakes over seven and a half furlongs at Rosehill on Saturday.

The four-year-old daughter of Elusive Quality came with a strong run in the stretch to win going away over the final half furlong. Lonhro four-year-old Angelus ran on well along the inner to take second place.

Nocturnelle has won her past two starts at Listed level and is now likely to head to Melbourne for a race over the Flemington Spring Carnival. "The last two starts she's gone to a new level," her trainer Chris Waller said. "She had everything go her way last start and she won well but today she had everything against her and she still won. So that tells you she's got good ability."

Bred by Mr Brian Agnew and Mr Peter Hawks, Nocturnelle is out of the G3-winning Snippets mare Dama De Noche, already the dam of the G3-performed Encosta de Lago mare Seduced. Dama de Noche produced a bay colt by World Champion three-year-old Bernardini in mid August.

Nocturnelle is one of 81 Stakes winners for Elusive Quality who stands at Darley Jonabell in Kentucky. His Group 1 winning son Sepoy will shuttle to Dalham Hall Stud in 2013.
