Native Ruler stormed to his fourth victory in a row when winning the Listed Iowa Sprint Handicap over six furlongs (1200m) at Prairie Meadows on Saturday. The $125,000 contest is his richest prize to date and followed up on his wide-margin win over course and distance on 9 June.
Bred by Rick Nicholls and Bernie Sams, the four-year-old Elusive Quality colt won on his debut as a two-year-old, a victory which he swiftly followed up with his first Stakes win in the $90,000 Chenery Stakes at Colonial Downs. He has carried the colours of Maggi Moss to six career wins and has also been placed twice in 14 runs to date.
Native Ruler is out of the Dixieland Band mare Tajannub and is thus bred on similar lines to Breeders' Cup Juvenile and Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense, whose sire Street Cry is, like Elusive Quality, a grandson of Mr Prospector.
