Kopenhagen goes wire-to-wire to take the G3 Grande Premio Parana

Victory never in doubt for talented son of Midshipman

Kopenhagen took the lead right out of the gate and never looked back on his way to cruising to a 12-length victory in the G3 Grande Premio Parana at Taruma Racecourse in Brazil Sept. 25.

The victory was the first in a Graded Stakes for the five-year-old horse by Midshipman, who pulled away in the stretch to score an impressive – and easy – win in the 10-furlong contest.

Kopenhagen was bred in Brazil by his owner Haras Springfield. He is out of the G1-placed mare, Left Handed (by Vettori), and is a half-brother to G2 winner and G1-placed Qua Qua Qua

In addition to Kopenhagen, Midshipman is represented by 2021 Graded Stakes winners Royal Ship (G2 Californian), Special Reserve (G3 Maryland Sprint Match Series Stakes) and Naval Laughter (G3 Modesty).
