Frost At Dawn lands Listed Cecil Frail Stakes

Frosted filly goes wire to wire at Haydock

Frost At Dawn added another stakes win to her résumé, bursting from the starting gate and powering her way to a challenged-fought victory in the Women In Racing/British EBF Cecil Frail Listed Stakes at Haydock Racecourse on Friday, 23 May. The daughter of Frosted made all, edged right from two furlongs out, and clung to the near rail under pressure in the final furlong, holding off a late challenge to win over six furlongs in 1:13.54 on good to firm ground.

Delivering a commanding performance, she confirmed the promise she showed winning the G3 Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint at Meydan in 2024. Trained by William Knight and owned by Abdulla Al Mansoori and Abdullah Saeed Al Naboodah, Frost At Dawn’s recent form includes a strong second-place finish in the Listed Ellen Chaloner Stakes at Newmarket earlier this month, where she was narrowly beaten by Tiger Bay.

Bred in Kentucky by Rabbah Bloodstock, Frost At Dawn is out of the winning War Front mare, Hawana, a half-sister to multiple Stakes winner, Ocean Atlantique and to Stakes-placed Gold Heritage.

Sire of 33 Stakes winners, Frosted is represented by recent G3 Gotham Stakes winner Flood Zone and White Rocks, recent winner of the Cincinnati Trophy Stakes at Turfway Park. In 2024, Frosted was the sire of 11 individual Stakes winners which included the outstanding Post Time, a multiple Graded Stakes winner who concluded the year with a bang-up second in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile.

Frosted is standing the 2025 breeding season at Jonabell Farm for $15,000 stands and nurses.
