Post Time goes out on top with a victory in Robert T. Manfuso Stakes at Laurel Park

Son of Frosted has banked over $1.5 million in his stellar career

Post Time turned the tables on rival Barbadian Runner, charging from last-to-first to win the $100,000 Robert T. Manfuso Stakes by one-and-a-quarter lengths at Laurel Park on Saturday, Dec. 20.

The victory brought down the curtain on an exceptional racing career for the five-year-old son of Frosted, who improved his overall record to 13-4-5 in 23 career starts, with earnings of $1,558,705. Post Time’s record at Laurel Park was just as impressive, winning 11 of 12 starts and finishing second once at his hometown oval.

Teachintherelease established the early pace along the inside rail through fractions of :23.90 and :48.14. Hittheroadjak pressed from second as Barbadian Runner tracked in third. Post Time settled in last through the opening half mile, saving ground along the rail.

Barbadian Runner slipped through along the inside to take command approaching the stretch as Teachintherelease began to weaken. The pacesetter drifted out, opening a seam for Barbadian Runner to kick clear into the lane through three-quarters in 1:13.49 and a mile in 1:38.36.

Post Time angled three wide into the stretch, found racing room and closed sharply under jockey Sheldon Russell's hand ride. The 5-year-old forged past Barbadian Runner near the sixteenth pole and spurted clear before being geared down in the final yards. The final time was 1:44.54.

Bred in Maryland by Dr. & Mrs. Thomas Bowman, Dr. Brooke Bowman and Milton P. Higgins III, Post Time is out of the mare Vielsalm, a Stakes-winning daughter of Fairbanks. Vielsalm is a full sister to Stakes-placed Open the Bank, and hails from the family of G1 winners Rose’s Cantina and Fancy Naskra.

Sire of 37 Stakes winners, Frosted is represented by additional 2025 Stakes winners Arctic Glamour (G2 Hot Danish Stakes in Aust.), Flood Zone (G3 Gotham Stakes); Meringue (KY Downs Juvenile Fillies Stakes); Winterberry (Bison City Stakes); White Rocks (Cincinnati Trophy); Frosty View (Blair’s Cove Minnesota Turf Championship) and Frost At Dawn (Listed Cecil Frail Stakes in England).

Frosted will stand the 2026 breeding season at Jonabell Farm for $12,500, stands and nurses.
