First Stakes success for daughter of Street Sense

Lightly-raced Dixie Blossoms wins G3 Angst Stakes impressively at Randwick

Talented Street Sense mare Dixie Blossoms has been rewarded for her consistency with an impressive G3 Angst Stakes (1600m) victory at Randwick on October 8.

Stakes-placed previously, the Ron Quinton-trained four-year-old Dixie Blossoms settled back in the field before unleashing a strong closing sprint to claim the Angst Stakes, her third win in nine starts.

Bred and raced by Alan Osburg, Dixie Blossoms is out of Whistle Dixie, a city-placed winner who has already produced Macau Listed winner Able Green (raced as Excel in Macau). Dixie Blossoms was Whistle Dixie’s final foal before being retired from stud duties in 2013.

Dixie Blossom is Street Sense’s 47th individual Stakes winner, including such top performers as Callback, winner of the G1 Las Virgenes; Wedding Toast, winner of the G1 Ogden Phipps and G1 Beldame; and Street Fancy, winner of the G1 Starlet Stakes.

In 2016 Street Sense has sired Street Strategy, winner of the Fifth Season Stakes, Street of Gold, winner of the Marie G. Krantz Memorial Stakes, and Thatcher Street, winner of the Opening Verse Stakes.
