First foal for Street Sense

A colt by the outstanding Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and Kentucky Derby winner arrives at Darley

The first reported foal by Champion two-year-old and Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense has arrived.

A bay colt from the Commands mare Berengaria was born on 8 August and was described by Woodlands General Manager John Sunderland as, “a nice quality colt with plenty of leg and good conformation.”

Berengaria is a daughter of Mythos (Imperial Prince), making her a half sister to dual G2 winner and G1 AAMI Australian Cup third Thackery; and two further Black type performers in Fairytales and Mythological.

Street Sense, who is the only horse ever to have completed the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile/ Kentucky Derby double, will stand at Kelvinside this season at a fee of $38,500 including GST.
