Fencing cuts to the chase at Ascot

Son of Street Cry registers second Stakes win

Street Cry’s four-year-old son Fencing, a Listed winner at two, notched his second career Stakes victory today with an impressive turn of foot at Ascot in the Paradise Stakes.

One of 62 lifetime Stakes winners for his sire, Fencing was content to race along with the pack early on in the one-mile event, but made a strong move nearing the finish to pull away an easy winner.

Owned and bred by George Strawbridge, Fencing is out of the top-class French-trained mare Latice, winner of the French Oaks. Latice is a half-sister to the French Derby winner Lawman as well G3 winner/G1-placed Satri. Latice was bred back to Street Cry in 2013.

The sire of 13 G1 winners including Horse of the Year Zenyatta, Kentucky Derby winner and Darley Japan stallion Street Sense and record-breaking sprinter and other Darley America sire Street Boss, Street Cry stands for $100,000 stands and nurses.
