Enterprising sharp winner of G3 Fair Grounds Handicap

Son of Elusive Quality notches his sixth career Stakes victory

Enterprising overtook his stablemate Oscar Nominated in the stretch and edged clear to win the G3 Fair Grounds Handicap by three-quarters of a length February 25.

It was the sixth Stakes victory for the six-year-old gelding by Elusive Quality, who has previously notched victories in the G3 La Jolla Stakes and the Listed Eddie Logan Stakes.             

Bred in Florida by Glen Hill Farm, Enterprising is out of Indy Blaze, by A.P. Indy. Enterprising’s second dam is Fire The Groom, champion older mare in England and winner of the G1 Beverly D. Stakes, G2 Wilshire Stakes, and G3 Santa Anita Budweiser Breeders’ Cup. Fire The Groom is also the dam of Stravinsky, champion sprinter in England and winner of the G1 Darley July Cup and G1 Nunthorpe Stakes.

Elusive Quality is the sire of 14 lifetime G1 winners, including such standouts as Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones, Australian Champion Sepoy, and Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass.

He is standing the 2017 breeding season at Jonabell Farm for a fee of $30,000, stands and nurses.
