Enterprising makes the grade in the G2 Muniz Memorial Handicap

Second Graded Stakes win in a row for son of Elusive Quality

Enterprising scored his second straight Graded Stakes victory when he slipped through an opening along the inside rail to win the G2 Muniz Memorial Handicap at Fair Grounds April 1.

Settled in mid-pack through the early stages of the race, Enterprising took the lead in deep stretch, then held off the late charge of Kasaqui and Oscar Nominated to win by a neck.

Bred in Florida by Glen Hill Farm, Enterprising is out of Indy Blaze, by A.P. Indy. Enterprising’s second dam is Fire The Groom, champion older mare in England and winner of the G1 Beverly D. Stakes, G2 Wilshire Stakes, and G3 Santa Anita Budweiser Breeders’ Cup. Fire The Groom is also the dam of Stravinsky, champion sprinter in England and winner of the G1 Darley July Cup and G1 Nunthorpe Stakes.

Elusive Quality is the sire of 14 lifetime G1 winners, including such standouts as Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones, Australian Champion Sepoy, and Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass.

Elusive Quality is standing the 2017 breeding season at Jonabell Farm for a fee of $30,000, stands and nurses.
