Elusive Quality's Enterprising posts game win at Santa Anita

Three-year-old colt finding his best stride on the turf

One mile on the turf brings out the best in Enterprising. He showed his prowess in that scenario again today when winning the Listed Pasadena Stakes at Santa, his second career stakes win at the Southern California track, and his third at eight furlongs on the lawn.

Jockey Gary Stevens, who has ridden the three-year-old in five of his six career starts, allowed the three-year-old son of Elusive Quality to settle in a stalking position as the field traveled down the backstretch. Once the group of sophomores entered the stretch, Enterprising was already passing horses and ended up digging deep in late stretch to hold on for his third win in six lifetime starts.

A homebred for Glen Hill Farm, Enterprising now has two wins from three starts and remains perfect on the turf. Enterprising is out of the A.P. Indy mare Indy Blaze, a half-sister to G1 winner Stravinsky. The Elusive Quality colt's granddam is another turf specialist in G1 Beverly D Stakes winner Fire The Groom.

Elusive Quality is the sire of 81 career Group or Graded performers, including Champion filly Certify Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones, Breeders’ Cup Classic winner and Darley sire Raven's Pass, Australian champion Sepoy and multiple European G1 winner Elusive Kate.

Elusive Quality stands for a fee of $50,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
