Elusive Kate best in G1 Falmouth Stakes

Third G1 win for Elusive Quality filly

Elusive Quality’s Elusive Kate proved the best in today’s Falmouth Stakes on Newmarket's July Course to win her third careeer G1 event. She led wire-to-wire in the one mile race, though she and Sky Lantern dueled from the start with both fillies drifting out until Elusive Kate was able to pull ahead and win by a neck.

Last year saw Elusive Kate win or place in all of her five starts including a win in the G1 Prix Rothschild at Deauville in France.  In her only previous start this year, she ran a respectable fourth to Declaration Of War for trainer John Gosden.

Elusive Kate is a daughter of the Lemon Drop Kid mare Gout De Terroir, a half-sister to multiple G1 winner Pleasantly Perfect. Her second dam, Regal State, is a winner of the G1 Prix Morny. Elusive Kate was bred by Clovelly Farms in Kentucky.

Renowned for siring robust, fast horses who can compete at the highest level around the world, Elusive Quality has sired four Champion two-year-olds and twelve track or Stakes record setters.  He has had 18 Group, Graded or Stakes horses so far in 2013, and Elusive Kate will be his fifth Group/Graded winner this year.
