Elusive Collection determined winner of Etobicoke Stakes

Daughter of Elusive Quality becomes stakes winner in just second career start

Elusive Collection made her stakes debut a winning one when she gamely outfought a stubborn Pohdi Pohdi to capture the Listed Etobicoke Stakes at Woodbine by a head Sept. 6.

Entering the race off a sharp maiden score, the three-year-old daughter of Elusive Quality sat just off the pace through the early stages of the seven-furlong contest. At the top of the stretch, Elusive Collection made her move, and the tenacious filly battled the length of the stretch with Pohdi Pohdi before edging clear at the wire.

Elusive Collection is out of Recollect, a full sister to dual G1 winner Winter Memories. Her second dam is the multiple G1 winner and top turf performer, Memories of Silver.

Elusive Quality is the sire of 14 G1 winners lifetime, a group that includes Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones, Australian Champion Sepoy, and Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass. The sire's top runners in 2015 include G2 Santa Ynez Stakes winner Seduire, and G3 winners Beauty Parlor and Eh Cumpari. Elusive Collection became the second stakes winner of the weekend for her sire, joining Ruthless Quality, winner of the Kentucky Downs Juvenile Fillies.
