Certify a certifiable favorite for 1,000 Guineas

Elusive Quality’s two-year-old filly takes G2 May Hill

Certify fought courageously today in the G2 May Hill Stakes at Doncaster and was able to get the win for owner Godolphin and trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni. In doing so, she solidified her role as favorite for next year’s 1,000 Guineas.

It was the third year in a row for a Goldolphin color bearer winning the G2 fixture as Certify joins last year’s winner White Moonstone and 2010’s victor Lyric of Light (by Street Cry). She now holds an entry for the G1 Fillies’ Mile which both of the aforementioned fillies went on to win as well.

Certify was bred in partnership by Darley, Hurstland Farm, Inc., and William Kartozian. She is a half-sister to Street Cry’s G1 winning daughter Cry And Catch Me and was produced from the Stakes winner and multiple G3-placed mare Please Sign In.

A winner this year of the G3 Sweet Solera Stakes as well, Certify is one of 77 Stakes winner for Elusive Quality, a growing list that also includes 2012 G1 winner Elusive Kate and 2012 G3 winner Questioning. And who can forget Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass and Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones; truly a sire for the ages.
