Cazadero dominates G3 Bashford Manor

Street Sense juvenile colt now two-for-two

Street Sense's two-year-old son Cazadero stayed unbeaten with a dominant victory in the G3 Bashford Manor Stakes on Saturday, June 27th on the dirt at Churchill Downs.  Named a TDN Rising Star after his 8-length debut win a month ago going five furlongs over the same track, Cazadero was making his second lifetime start for trainer Steve Asmussen and owner/breeder Stonestreet Farm.

Sent off as the 2-5 favorite in the six-furlong Bashford Manor, Cazadero broke alertly and settled in third through quick early fractions.  He took the lead at the top of the stretch and pulled away to win easily by almost five lengths.

Cazadero is out of the G3 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes winner Wild Gams, she a full sister to Black type winner Diamond Wildcat. Wild Gams is also the dam of Black type winner Mt. Brave and G3-placed Almost Famous.

Street Sense is the only stallion with three Graded Stakes-winning dirt colts in America this year.  In addition to Cazadero, he has sired G3 Matt Winn Stakes winner Maxfield and G2 Triple Bend victor McKinzie in 2020.
