“The Boss” gets the job done in Italy

It didn’t take long for Street Boss do enter the ranks of “sire” as his daughter Catboss emulated her record-setting sire by winning on her debut in Rome, Italy. Breaking quickly from the gate, Catboss rated just behind the leaders throughout  the five-furlong maiden event and battled courageously to the wire for the victory.

Catboss was bred by Brandywine in Kentucky and was produced from the winning Tobasco Cat mare, Glorious Cat, who is out of a half-sister to the seven-time Stakes winner and multiple Graded-placed Purple Passion.

In addition to Catboss, other two-year-olds by Street Boss have made headlines in 2012 with juveniles making up to $875,000 at the major North American sales. Street Boss defeated top fields in the G1 Triple Bend and Bing Crosby Handicaps and set records at five and a half and six furlongs. He is one of 13 G1 winners by his illustrious sire Street Cry, a list that also include fellow Darley stallion Street Sense.
