Azure Coast sails to victory at Meydan

Becomes latest Group or Graded winner by Street Sense

Following a winning first career start in Moscow last September, the connections of Street Sense's Azure Coast looked to expand their colt's horizons and shipped to the UAE. Following a come-from-behind three-length victory in his first start at Meydan, the colt repeated that strong effort, passing all but one on February 11 to win the G3 UAE 2,000 Guineas for his first career Black Type victory.

The colt was bred by Emory A. Hamilton in Kentucky and is out of the Empire Maker mare Divine Rule. Divine Rule is a full sister to G3 winner Soaring Empire and a half to G2 winner/G1-placed Hungry Island (dam of Stakes-placed Hungry Kitten), G3-placed Tokyo Time and a half to the dam of G1 Woodward winner Preservationist.

Street Sense is now the sire of 11 G1 winners, including new Darley stallion and multiple G1 winner Maxfield. Maxfield earned over $1.5 million in 2021 alone helping to pushed his sire's total progeny earning last year to over $10 million. His runners in 2021 also included G2 winners Concert Tour and Zaajel. In 2022, he is also the sire of Godolphin's Speaker's Corner who started his year on a bright note in winning the G3 Fred W. Hooper at Gulfstream on January29.

Street Sense is standing the 2022 season for a fee of $75,000 stands and nurses.
