Always Thinking charges from far back to win the Sensible Lady Turf Dash

Daughter of Street Sense sets new course record in recording her first Stakes victory

Godolphin Racing’s Always Thinking closed strongly down the center of the course to take the $100,000 Sensible Lady Turf Dash at Laurel Park September 16.

Not only was the daughter of Street Sense notching her first Stakes victory, but she set a new course record in the process, stopping the clock at 1:07.68 for six furlongs.

Overlooked by bettors and sent off at odds of 25-1, Always Thinking was settled toward the rear of the field early by jockey Edgar Prado. Closing swiftly on the far turn, Always Thinking swung four-wide in the stretch, then mowed down her rivals late to win going away by one-and-a-half lengths.

Bred in Kentucky by Darley, Always Thinking is out of Que Piensa Cat, winner of the G1 Eliseo Ramirez in Argentina. Que Piensa Cat is a full-sister to multiple G1-placed Simpatica Cat.

Siring 49 Stakes-performers in his stud career so far, Street Sense’s progeny are headed by the likes of G1 winners Callback, Wedding Toast, Street Fancy, and Sense of Occasion
