33rd career Group winner for Elusive Quality

Son Desejado Magee wins G2 in Brazil

It was in August of 2002 when Elusive Quality’s talented son Elusive City won his first career start in the G1 Prix Morny giving his sire his first Group winner as a stallion. Twelve years later, the Group winners just keep on coming illustrated most recently by Desejado Magee’s win on May 10 in the Grande Premio Cordeiro da Graca in Brazil (watch video here).

While making only his third career start, Desejado Magee raced with determination throughout the five furlong event, first breaking alertly and then pressing the early pace. As the field passed by the three furlong mark, the two-year-old colt wrestled the lead away from the pacesetter and then held off a late rush from another for the narrow win.

Bred by and owned by Stud Alvarenga in Brazil, Desejado Magee is a half-brother to Brazilian Champion Desejado Thunder, a multiple G1 winner of 15 races from 21 career starts.

Elusive Quality is best know for G1 Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones, G1 Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass, Champions Certify and Sepoy as well as other Europen Champion and multiple G1-winning filly Elusive Kate. Elusive Quality has now sired a career total of 97 Stakes winners.

He stands for $50,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
