Horse of the Year Sovereignty and G1 Pacific Classic winner Knightsbridge will join the Darley roster at Jonabell Farm for 2027.
Sovereignty, the 2025 Horse of the Year and Eclipse Champion Three-Year-Old Colt, won the Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes, and Travers at three, and added the G1 Whitney this year as a four-year-old. He is the only horse ever to win the Kentucky Derby, Travers, and Whitney, and he joins Street Sense as the only Kentucky Derby winners to take the Travers in the past 30 years. In addition to his four G1 victories, he also won the G3 Street Sense at two and the G2 Fountain of Youth and G2 Jim Dandy at three. The fastest son of Into Mischief, he earned a 115 Beyer for his spectacular 10-length victory in the Travers and a 112 Beyer in the Whitney.
Knightsbridge's five Graded Stakes wins include the G1 Pacific Classic by six lengths and an 11-length win in the G3 Gulfstream Park Mile earning a 112 Beyer. The fastest son of Nyquist, his 122 Beyer Speed Figure for his 10-length victory in the G3 Monmouth Cup is the best figure since Flightline. A half-brother to exciting freshman sire and future roster-mate Speaker's Corner, Knightsbridge is out of the Bernardini mare Tyburn Brook, a daughter of G1 Breeders' Cup Distaff and G1 Acorn winner Round Pond.
Fees for both Sovereignty and Knightsbridge will be announced after the Breeders' Cup.
Nyquist will once again top the Jonabell roster in 2027, standing for $225,000. The sire of 13 career G1 winners and 16 million-dollar yearlings, his top performers this year include Knightsbridge along with G1 Met Mile winner Nysos, G1 Darley Alcibiades winner Emphatic, G2 Fleur de Lis winner Immersive, G3 Peter Pan winner Growth Equity and G3 Gotham winner Iron Honor. Nyquist had a breakout year at the yearling sales in 2026 with eleven $1 million-plus yearlings, including a $3.2m session-topper at Saratoga and a $2.25m session-topper at Keeneland. He is expected to have several Breeders' Cup contenders including Knightsbridge, as well as Emphatic in the Juvenile Fillies, Gaudreau in the Juvenile, and Immersive in the Distaff.
Maxfield's 18 first-crop Stakes horses include both the fastest three-year-old colt and the fastest three-year-old filly this year: multiple G1 winner and Breeders' Cup Sprint contender Englishman, whose 117 Beyer is the best for a three-year-old colt since Flightline, and G3 Prioress winner Mashallah, whose 106 Beyer on debut at Keeneland is the best for a three-year-old filly this year and is the highest debut Beyer for a filly in the past 25 years. Maxfield will stand for $75,000 in 2026.
Essential Quality, sire of G1 Pennsylvania Derby winner The Puma, will again stand for $25,000, while exciting freshman Speaker's Corner's fee will be announced after the Breeders' Cup, where he is expected to be represented by impressive seven-length G2 Oak Leaf winner Domain Expansion in the Juvenile Fillies.
Horse of the Year and two-time Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile winner Cody's Wish and G1 Clark winner Proxy, both of whom will see their first juveniles race in 2027, will stand for $55,000 and $7,500, respectively.
Rounding out the roster will be Street Sense at $35,000, Hard Spun and Midshipman at $15,000 each, and First Mission, Highland Falls, and Mystic Guide at $7,500 apiece.
