Randomized returns to her winning ways, going gate-to-wire to win G3 Molly Pitcher Stakes

Daughter of Nyquist earns her fourth Graded Stakes victory

Randomized returned to her winning form at Monmouth Park when she led from start to finish to win the $500,000 G3 Molly Pitcher Stakes by three lengths on Saturday, July 19.

The Molly Pitcher win marked the fourth Graded Stakes victory for the five-year-old Nyquist mare, and it was her first since taking the G1 Ogden Phipps at Saratoga last year.

Confidently ridden by jockey Flavien Prat, Randomized was sent right to the lead from the start. She was soon joined by recent G1 winner, Dorth Vader, as Candied tracked them both from third. Dorth Vader continued to apply pressure to Randomized down the backstretch and into the far turn, but as the field hit the top of the stretch, Randomized spurted away and began to open up.

From there it was just a matter of who would get second, with Majestic Oops closing with a rush to take second by a nose over Candied.

Bred in Kentucky by Cove Springs, LLC, Randomized was a $420,000 purchase at the 2021 Keeneland September Yearling Sale. She is the fourth foal out of the unraced Elusive Quality mare French Passport, a half-sister to G2 winners Smooth Air and Overdriven and to the dam of multiple G1 winner, Got Stormy. French Passport’s most recent foal is a current two-year-old filly by Maxfield.

Nyquist is the sire of seven Graded/Group Stakes winners in 2025. The stallion’s top runners are headlined by Cavalieri (G1 Beholder Mile, G3 La Canada); Crimson Advocate (G2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot); Gosger (G3 Lexington Stakes); Nysos (G3 Triple Bend); Verity (G2 Beaumont Stakes); and Tenma (G2 Santa Anita Oaks, G3 Las Virgenes Stakes).
