Vigilantes Way gets the victory in Listed Violet Stakes

Daughter of Medaglia d’Oro notches her third Stakes win at Monmouth Park

Vigilantes Way showed her affinity for the Monmouth Park turf course when she notched her third Stakes win over that surface when taking the Listed Violet Stakes on Saturday, 3 September.

The Ultra-consistent daughter of Medaglia d’Oro has finished in the money in 16 of her 19 career starts, with seven victories to her credit.

Settled off the pace early by jockey Paco Lopez, Vigilantes Way began close in on the leaders while saving ground along the inside rail. Rounding the far turn, she had to wait for room while stuck behind a wall of horses. Nearing the furlong marker, a seam finally opened, and Vigilantes Way shot through and took a slight lead. She then gamely held off the late challenge of Runaway Rumour to post a half-length win.

Bred in Kentucky by her owner, Phipps Stable, Vigilantes Way is out of the multiple Graded Stakes-placed Unbridled mare Salute, a daughter of Champion and multiple G1 producer Personal Ensign. Vigilantes Way is a half-sister to G1 winner Mr Speaker, G3 winner Fire Away, and multiple G1-winning hurdler, Snap Decision.

Medaglia d’Oro is the sire of 88 Group/Graded winners including 26 that have won at G1 level. Vigilantes Way joins the 2022 Stakes winners honor roll along with Nostalgic, winner of the G3 Gazelle Stakes, Prevalence (G3 Commonwealth Stakes), Pennybaker (Heavenly Cause Stakes), Mamounia (Listed Galilee Series Final) and Shafaaf (Listed 100th Grand Prix de Bordeaux).
