The unstoppable Zenyatta makes it 19

Street Cry’s incomparable daughter records her 13th G1 win with her third straight victory in the Ladies’ Secret

Zenyatta, the history-making daughter of Street Cry and arguably the most famous racemare in the world, retained her unbeaten record in thrilling style on October 2, coming with a spectacular late run to take the G1 Ladies’ Secret Stakes for the third consecutive year.

Settled some eight lengths behind the leader during the early stages, the big mare loomed up on the outside once the field approached the turn. Zenyatta was three lengths adrift of eventual second Switch (by fellow Darley stallion Quiet American) entering the stretch but demonstrating her huge power of acceleration inside the final furlong, swept to the front and won by half a length.

Her victory took her tally of G1 wins to 13 and increased her career earnings to $6,404,580 – making her the highest ever female earner in North America. With her 19 straight wins, Zenyatta also equalled the record set by Pepper’s Pride.

She will now be shipped to Churchill Downs, where owners Jerry and Ann Moss hope she will make further history by winning back-to-back runnings of America's richest race - the Breeders’ Cup Classic, due to take place this year on November 6. If she wins her last career race, victory number 20 would cement her place in history as arguably the best female to ever race and possibly the best of either sex to ever look through a bridle

Street Cry is sire of 12 G1 winners worldwide, three of whom have won at this level in 2010. He is also sire this year of the hugely promising G2-winning juvenile Saamidd, who heads for the G1 Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket in a fortnight's time.
