Two $500,000 yearlings from Nyquist’s second crop

The current leading freshman sire proves very popular at Fasig-Tipton's September sale

Culminating a week that saw his daughters Vequist and Lady Lilly (an earlier debut Saratoga winner) finish 1-3 in the G1 Spinaway - vaulting him to #1 on the Leading Freshman Sire List - Nyquist went from strength to strength as his offspring made quite an impression at Fasig-Tipton's September Sale.  Eight of his colts and fillies went beyond the century mark, two bringing the top prices of any of his sire crop, with support from top buyers:

  • $510,000, purchaser Mike Ryan, Agt., consigned by South Point Sales Agency, Agt.
  • $500,000, purchaser Courtlandt Farm, consigned by Warrendale Sales, Agt.
  • $350,000, purchaser Spendthrift Farm, consigned by Anderson Farms, Agt.
  • $325,000, purchaser Breeze Easy, consigned by Vinery Sales, Agt., for Haymarket Farm
  • $215,000, purchaser Stripes Stable, consigned by Paramount Sales, Agt.
Hip number 297, a $510,000 yearling sired by Nyquist

Nyquist's sales performance has always been very strong as a stallion, having been the leading first-year weanling and yearling sire of his sire crop by average in 2018 and 2019, and the leading two-year-old sales sire of his crop in 2020 by median. Subsequently, it is perhaps not a big surprise that he is currently the leading freshman sire of that same group by earnings this year. In addition to the aforementioned G1 Spinaway Stakes stars, he has sired Saratoga winner Team Merchants, Soaring Free Stakes winner Gretzky The Great, Ellis Park winners Assertive Style and Dream Quist, along with his latest winner, Kwist, who won on debut on September 10 at Laurel.

Don't miss your next chance to get in on the exciting action as fifty-two yearlings by Nyquist are offer at the upcoming Keeneland September Yearling Sales.
