Taghleeb rallies in the stretch to win the Remington Green Stakes

Son of Hard Spun goes from last-to-first in final furlong to earn first Stakes victory

Racing in last throughout most of the race, Taghleeb closed like a rocket in the final furlong to win Listed Remington Green Stakes by a half-length September 25.

The victory marked the first Stakes win for the five-year-old son of Hard Spun, who was making his first start for trainer Mike Maker and owner Michael M. Hui.

Taghleeb was bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm LLC and is out of Judhoor, winner of the Listed Ripon Silver Bowl Fillies’ Stakes. Taghleeb hails from the immediate family of Al Bahathri, winner of the G1 Goffs Irish One Thousand Guineas.

Hard Spun enjoyed a terrific year in 2015, siring G1 winners Hard Not To Like, Hard Aces, and Smooth Roller. Hard Spun has sired 11 Stakes winners so far this year, including the Graded winners Hard Aces, Big John B, Reload, Promising Run, and Khusoosy.
